i tried explaining this recently to someone who asked me "why don't you guys date?" well, the answer is because shes my best friend. we'd been good friends during high school, hung out a bit even after wards. we both tend to shut people out when we're in relationships, and we both ended up into drugs in a similar progression. had it not been for her i probally wouldn't of cleaned up as i'm a pro in self destruction. we both had messy breakups out of our previously long term relationships.....


problem is....



she got shit faced drunk tonite, and was down and out. i happened to be in the area so i swung by for some support. somehow the conversation got to sex, and the fact we hadn't had much sense our breakups. well, one thing led to another....





does that mean our friendship is forever fucked?! both of us enjoy being single, and consider ourselves damaged goods for a relationship. i feel kinda bad because she was pretty drunk [i was ironicly sober for this event]. kinda hard to say no when shes reaching down your pants....[/i]

Not in the least. Lisa and I dated for less than a year before we broke up. After a few months of not even speaking we slowly started talking then again hanging out until it got to the point where we spent more time together than apart. But only as friends. Best friends. A time or two things did once again heat up physically but we remained the closest of friends until the day she died - about 5 years after we re-met [we had met back in the 80's in college down in LA but didn't hang out]. In fact, she died less than 1/2 hour after I had last seen her.

Don't ignore what happened, but don't stress over it. shit happens. And don't let it mess up a friendship because it really doesn't have to do so.

turns out it hasnt fucked up our friendship. infact, apparently i'm one of the better ones in the sack? i love having mutual friends who find the need to fill you in on things you probally should of heard. my attempt at getting her to DO something for the holidays [she was disinvited to her familys for xmas] have so far failed, but i'm more than certain we'll hangout at some point over the next 2 days....


we're also both having a tough time not returning to our vices over the holidays. she's drinking, and i'm tweaking, what a combo.....




and GS, i hadn't had good sex in probally a year at this point. cleaning up regardless of age, puts ya back to the being 15 and a walking boner again. and to think, it was neither of our first times seeing each other naked, surprised nothing ever happened in the past now looking back.
