yes i know, i'm pulling that absentee shit again. but here me out, real life has gotten super fucking busy lately. i've lost count of the days i've been clean, but every day is awesome lets just put it that way. so a little run down, i thrusted myself into my local music scene [its actually a thriving one] and made many friends because of it. i host an open mic night at my local cool club [its our cities version of the old CBGB's], and i'm in 3 different bands [2 of which i direct and lead]. i've recently started a media company of my own [the carnival of light] that photographs and films local bands. i've now made maybe a dozen music videos [only 2 of which were staged, the rest live stuff]. i currently am a writer/vocalist/ and random instrument player of the resident alien project [a genre bending thing where the local scences musicians collaberate randomly with each other. i get to introduce them for the show friday night].....

i've also done quite a bit of traveling too. i'm all over new england again like i should be. life is good....


so how are you guys? i missed you. oh yea i forgot i write for the scope magazine [in addition to filming, video editing, and web help], and a local singer songwriter i admire i recently learned actually knew what totse was [and posted there himself]. he remembered one of my first handles [MD5Against1]. i'm currently cutting up about 5 months worth of recordings too [resident alien has a secret microphone in the ceiling to record the ambient music]. i'm in the midst of working on both a solo demo and my new bands demo too....

      Man, I'd kill to ind a good band now. That Ventures cover band was ok - it was something to do. But the the leader liked to drink more than play so me and my roommate quit after a bunch warnings [too bad to because he is the guy who got mt the job at the radio station...

i've got about a 2 month back log of videos to upload lol. meta i was dieing to be in a band to again. i'm now part of 3. resident alien's concept exsisted before me, but apperently no one had original non-poetry/spoken word stuff in the theme. sure there are other vocalists yea, but they do their own thing. this made me defacto ring leader, at least in the people who created this idea's eyes. thankfully i have 3 or so chapters of writings to work with [roughly say 32 "songs"] my one saving grace is, people love to perform them, so i can delegate as i please. [the other band on the bill is the weird beards, the band most likely to do a show that is both strange, different and always surprising.] so the need to kick insanity up a knock is there. [i made a robot that someone is going to remote control for me, and took one of those helicopter thingers and gave it a spaceship skin].....

the carnival of light videos/pictures that aren't out yet, will eventually get there. its a love hate relationship. my backlog for music video shoots is 10 real request deep [the other more professional videographer only has 3-4 at the moment]. infact i stole one of his favorite bands from him. the funny part is even the metal heads love it, and the punks. the hippies dig it too.....


haha i play guitar, speckles plays drums, and meta plays bass. it could totally happen. with modern recording technology, we can even do it from where we are. but thats not organic, and takes away the "lets get stoned and make music part."



its really gratifying though to go from self destruction to finally having something. 6 months ago i was an unknown. now i have real friends, and even people who dig my visions/ideas/sounds. i got the open mic gig because i wanted to jam with new people, and we all went. that night, the usual dead 3-10 people open mic had 60 people at least for a good few hours. they did so good, everytime i order a mixed drink its strong as fuck.....



speaking of resident alien, we got kicked out of our rehearsal space for being too loud, too awesome, and having too many people [like 50 people would show up, with a good core of a dozen performers]. so its my job to round up the aliens for alien refugee camp [two birds one stone, we have a space again, and we please our downstairs landlord. jackpot!] we our practice night would make the bar dead [dead enough to close at 9pm!]








and side note, how the fuck am i going to sleep tonight...hmmm.

pocket vinyl is awesome, they're husband and wife. the husband sings and plays piano, while during every show the wife makes a unique painting. [she's been on a monster kick, they're great art].


i think my problem is, i'm not high. i'm stone cold sober, no pot, no booze. i can't taint the awesomeness, no matter what the nerves.

Naw. I  haven't had a drink in over a week now. Thank god for modern medicine! Them little pills really are doing a good job in controlling the shakes. Too bad they don't have something as effective for heroin. But then - believe it or not - it was way easier to quit heroin than it has alcohol - this time [when I drank in my 20's to the point where my liver was near failing I didn't get the shakes - or anything at all. And I drank a lot more back then too. I guess it's my age...

sadly i think i may of run into an issue with the drink myself. thankfully i got youth on my side. i don't get any shakes, i've stopped for long enough from time to time long enough to trigger any ill effects. its a side effect of the bar/musician mentality in my local area i believe, you play a bar ya get free drinks. people will somehow buy you drinks when they like your tunes. glad your getting off the sauce meta, less sauce more boss. yea i know i'm an asshole for saying that while drinking vodka, but i'm guesting on a radio show. i really need to drink less and smoke more pot i think, my creativity will thank me.....

the show went well enough that i ended up on 3 radio stations, somehow the figurehead to the resident alien concept. the first "real" alien refugee camp happened this past thursday which surprisingly went well, the concept stays alive regardless of who's playing what. i usually think my voice sucks, but somehow it works here, and i've got an inane knack for coming up with lyrics on the spot. the only non-rapper to do such. most other vocalists have poems/pre-written stuff they read.

what some of you may or may not know, the biggest tourist event of the year [sailfest] is this weekend, and i need to figure out a way to clone myself six ways. so many places to be so little me. i have a show to play friday AND saturday, in addition to the dozen requests of photography and video. i've been helping out with a local record company, whos owners know full well the only reason i did was to make connections and learn the trade to start my own. well little did i know, that is exactly why they hired me. anywho, i just filed the paper work to incorporate swamp yankee recordings. if all goes well, i should be pumping out music by the end of the summer/early fall.....

somehow i find time to guest on 4-8 radio shows a week. this is getting hard as some of them are quite late at night. i'm starting to pre-record statements lol.




but in rather important news, i will be traveling to tokyo japan at the end of august, portland oregon in the middle of september, and seattle around my birthday in october. there is also talks with someone a few i jam with about hitting the road and doing a tour. so if that happens, i'll do my best to try and get AS CLOSE to you as i can.

sorry for the lack of updates as of lately. i took some time off and escaped alone to my happy places for a bit. been writing some solo stuff again, and giving the one man band ala sebadoh stuff a try. my living beyond better faith band has had a few shows as of lately, our first music festival is in a month. done alot of new england traveling, done alot of schmoozing. some health issues have surfaced as of late to attempt to slow me down. i'm slowly turning into a lizard, but alas, i'll just let the mojo rise and be the king. i quit drinking, going to quit smoking soon. cigs, not green. infact, i go for an appointment tomorrow for my CT recommendation! woot! i'll be all ready for when the dispensaries open!.

as the time comes, i'll update more when it gets near, i'm still in the demo stage piecing it together, but when the EP comes out october-ish, TDD members get a free, exclusive customized copy. it'll require snail mail.......


i've also had alot of family issues as of late. taught my niece how to play drums [she's 4, but i secretly record some of these practices], and well been debating about throwing my mother in the looney bin. she's gone bonkers. long story, but her parents are on deaths door, and her sister made use of the power attorney bestowed upon her. in an effort to de-stress my life and not make my condtions worse, i'm ignoring this crap.
